چکیده

Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems are under intense investigation for wireless transmission systems. Space-Time Coding is an efficient approach to exploit the huge diversity offered by the MIMO channel. One of the main problems of Space-Time Block Coding (STBC) is that the offered diversity can only be exploited by the optimal ML receiver which has exponential complexity. In contrast, linear receivers like the ZF-receiver are less complex, but achieve in general only a fraction of the offered diversity. In this paper, we show that it is also possible to achieve high diversity with linear receivers utilizing STBCs with a specific structure. We investigate the diversity properties of cyclic codes and extended Alamouti codes. It is shown, that the diversity order D increases asymptotically linear with the number of receive antennas (nR) and that the extended Alamouti code achieves already almost full diversity utilizing linear receivers and only small nR.

Full-Diversity Space-Time Block Codes for Integer-Forcing Linear Receivers

In multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) fading channels, the design criterion for full-diversity space-time block codes (STBCs) is primarily determined by the decoding method at the receiver. Although constructions of STBCs have predominantly matched the maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder, design criteria and constructions of full-diversity STBCs have also been reported for low-complexity linear ...

Space-Time Block Codes with Full Diversity using Linear Precoding and Linear Receivers

Abstract— In order to increase the diversity order of a multiantenna system at a moderate cost of complexity, one may choose Orthogonal Space-Time Block Coding (OSTBC). In this paper, OSTBC is combined with linear precoding matrices to improve the space-time-frequency diversity. Different linear precoding matrices based on either Fourier, Vandermonde or Hadamard constructions are proposed where...

Cooperative Orthogonal Space-Time-Frequency Block Codes over a MIMO-OFDM Frequency Selective Channel

In this paper, a cooperative algorithm to improve the orthogonal space-timefrequency block codes (OSTFBC) in frequency selective channels for 2*1, 2*2, 4*1, 4*2 MIMO-OFDM systems, is presented. The algorithm of three node, a source node, a relay node and a destination node is formed, and is implemented in two stages. During the first stage, the destination and the relay antennas receive the sym...

Full Diversity Spatial Multiplexing Based on Siso Channel Coding, Spatial Spreading and Delay Diversity

The use of multiple transmitter and receiver antennas allows to transmit multiple signal streams in parallel and hence to increase communication capacity. To distribute the multiple signal streams over the MIMO channel, linear space-time codes have been shown to be a convenient way to reach high capacity gains with a reasonable complexity. The space-time codes that have been introduced so far a...
